June 6, 2005 - 9:09 a.m. Cowboy Western I love the Sadies! listening to their music makes me want to buy a cowboy-style shirt and cook southwestern food. I'm especially keen on this one song "Pass the Chutney." It's a cow-punk surf song, which works very, very well. We played Deadlands last night, Crash's tabletop western game. I play a bounty hunter who owns a gun that speaks to her. In a bad way, it wants to kill people... A lot of people. So my character is just as fucked up as me... No wait, that sounds bad, like I'm some sort of mass murderer or something, waiting to come out of her shell. No that's not what I meant - I just meant I'm fucked up in the general sense that I always have something in the back of my mind that I try to keep out of my life - with little to some success depending on the day. I'm just an obsessive-compulsive, depressive person who wishes she felt more normal sometimes, rather than get worked up and dreaming up scenarios of doom and gloom. Well there's that and if a gun (or any other inanimate object) ever starts speaking to me I know I've completely gone off the deep end. But sometimes playing up the antihero with a lot on her plate is a little cathartic. After being broke for a week, I've realised Crash and I have to revise our spending habits, so we don't spend all our money on eating out and other stuff... this hasn't happened in a long time. I'm trying to convince him that we should cook more. I love cooking anyway - which some people think is funny considering I'm on the small side. But whatever, I figure after a few years of depriving myself of food, I may as well enjoy it! Not in huge quantities or anything, but until I'm full. I'm sure because of the Deadlands game and the Sadies (Damn you Sadies, I love you!) I will probably be on a huge southwestern kick. Ahhh, beans beans, the magical fruit, the more you eat the more you...
